The Terms and Conditions set out are an agreement between you “the owner” and Love Hounds Dog Services “the carer”.
Please notify your veterinary surgeon of the dates of your holiday and confirm I will be looking after your pet during your absence. Please inform them I have the authority to consent to veterinary treatment as needed.
Submission of a Booking Form will confirm the owners acceptance of the Terms and Conditions and their desire to progress with the booking.
Bookings are not confirmed until the deposit of 20% has been paid, which is due at the time of submitting the Booking Form. Once we have received the deposit and booking form we will send you a confirmation email.
The remaining balance is required 5 working days prior to your dogs stay and is payable by Cash or BACS. If we are unable to collect a balance the board will be cancelled.
Cancellations must be notified to Love Hounds in writing within 14 days of booking. Should you cancel for any reason after 14 days of booking your deposit will be retained. For bookings that are cancelled after 14 days, our standard cancellation policy will come into effect in line with the Consumer Cancellation Regulations Act 2013.
You agree to provide full and detailed information in the Booking Form about your dog(s). During the continued use of Love Hounds services you agree to keep us informed of any changes to your dogs Booking Form.
• Your pet(s) will need to be vaccinated against Canine Distemper, Parovirus, Canine Hepatitis, Canine Parainfluenza and Infectious Tracheobronchitis (kennel cough) and Leptospirosis. A valid vaccinations record will need to be presented when making a booking.
• All dogs must be up to date with their worming, tick and flea treatments & proof of this must be provided.
• In the event of a flea or worm infestation the dog(s) will be treated at the owners expense.
• All dogs must be microchipped and the microchip number must be supplied to Love Hounds for boarding to commence. Please ensure that your details are up to date.
• A maximum of 4 dogs will be exercised at any one time.
• Love Hounds offers a minimum of 3 free meet & greet sessions. We insist on this due to our own dogs and cats that live in the same environment to ensure all parties get along. We cannot accept a dog that has not attended the meet and greet sessions.
• Your pet(s) will, as far as possible, live as a family member. He/she will have free access to the house including, living room, kitchen, bedroom and garden (unless otherwise specified)
• Should your dog return from exercise we and/or muddy, he/she will be washed off and towel dried.
• In the unlikely event of having to leave your pet, your pet will not be left for more than 3 hours at any one time.
• Should your pet(s) show behavioural problems (such as habitual urinating/soiling/ chewing) or exhibit signs of aggression, he/she will be confined to his/her kennel and you (or your emergency contact) will be informed immediately.
• In the event of an emergency and Love Hounds are unable to proceed with the board, we will endeavour to transfer the board to another carer. We reserve the right at our discretion to cancel the booking and refund you your deposit without any liability to Love Hounds.
• We are unable to to accept dogs with aggression problems towards other dogs and people subject to the terms of the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991.
• We are happy to accept bookings for unspayed bitches, however if you believe your dog is due in season during her board you must inform us at the time of booking. If we are not happy to accept your bitch in season we will endeavour to transfer the board.
• We are happy to accept entire males, providing there is no aggressive from and towards other dogs.
• If your dog is aggressive or bites during its board it will be moved to a kennel and a transfer fee of £30 will be payable by yourself upon your return. There will be no refund of the boarding fees you have paid Love Hounds and any additional fees charged by the kennels will be payable by you.
• You agree to supply enough food for the duration of your dogs board plus any bedding, lead and toys which will help your dog settle. If insufficient food is supplied at the start of the board you agree to refund Love Hounds costs incurred purchasing more food.
• If your dog causes damage to our home, other than reasonable wear and tear, you will reimburse Love Hounds for the costs incurred for repair or replacement.
• The carer will use all care to ensure the happiness, safety and welfare of your dog(s). If however your dog(s) becomes unwell or has an accident during their board we will take he/she to a Veterinary Surgery. You agree to be responsible for payment of the veterinary fees incurred upon your return. We do recommend that your dog is insured against sickness, accident, injury and third party liability prior to the start of your board.
• The Booking Form gives the carer authorisation to take your dog(s) to a Veterinary Surgeon if necessary, whilst also confirming you will either reimburse the carer for any fees or pay the Veterinary Surgery directly, whichever applies.
• It is Love Hounds policy to exercise dogs on a lead, through experience we have found this to be in the best interests of your dog(s). However, if you would prefer your dog exercised off the lead you will be required to give written consent on the Booking Form, under which you accept responsibility for third party liability and agree that your dog(s) insured at the start of the board, we reserve the right to exercise your dog on a lead.
• Although we make every effort to ensure your dog(s) is cared for to our usual high standards we cannot be liable for loss, injury or death.
• Photos taken of your dog(s) during the board will be the property of Love Hounds and may be shared on our website and social media sites. Should you not wish for your pets photos to be shared please let us know.
• Payment can be made by Cash or BACS, please put your dogs name as the reference.
